(Pt. 1)
Let’s talk about this. John 3:16 I guess is the most quoted verse in the New Testament. Rightly so, for it speaks of the “world”, the “Son”, the “lost”, & “everlasting life”:
“For God so loved the World that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.” NKJV
No doubt there have been millions of sermons taught from this N.T. verse. God so loved this “world” that He was willing to give up His Son in order to redeem those destined to “perish”.
World – Greek
The Bible has 3 Gk. words that define this word: (1) kosmos (κόσμος), primarily order, arrangement, ornament, adornment (1 Pet. 3:3). It is used to denote (a) the earth, e.g., Mt. 13:35; Jn. 21:25; Acts 17: 24; Rom. 1:20 (probably here the univ.); 1 Tim. 6:7; Heb. 4:3; 9:26; (b) the earth is contrast with Heaven (1 Jn. 3:17 (perhaps also Rom. 4:13?); (c) by metonymy, the human race, humankind, e.g., Mt. 5:14; Jn. 1:9; 3:16 (our main text). Here in John 3 we find the “world” being mentioned by Jesus 5 times: vs. 16 (1), vs. 17 (3), vs. 19 (1); (d) Gentiles as distinguished from Jews, e.g., Rom. 11:12, 15; (e) the present condition of human affairs, in alienation from the opposition to God, e.g., Jn. 7:7; 8:23 et al; (f) the sum of temporal possessions, e.g., Mt. 16:26; 1 Cor. 7:31 et al; (g) metaphorically, of the tongue as “a world of iniquity”), Ja. 3:6;
(2) Aiōn (αἰών), an age, a period of time, e.g., Mt. 13:22 (its cares), (its sons), Lk. 16:8; 20:34; (its rulers), 1 Cor. 2:6, 8; (its wisdom), 1 Cor. 1:20; 2:6; 3:18; (its fashion), Rom. 12:2; (its character). Gal. 1:4; (its god), 2 Cor.
(3) Oikoumenē (οἰκουμένη), the inhabited earth: used (a) the whole inhabited world, e.g., Mt. 24:14; Lk. 4:5; 21:26; Rom. 10:18; He. 1:6; Rev. 3:10; 16:14; by metonymy, of its inhabitants, Acts 17:31; Rev. 12:9; (b) of the Roman Empire, the world as viewed by the author/speaker, Lk. 2:1; Acts 11:28; 24:5; by metonymy, of its inhabitants, Acts 17:6; 19:27; (c) the inhabited world in a coming age, Heb. 2:5. [note: In Rev. 13:3, KJV, gē = the earth, in the R.V. it is trans. “world” (see aiōnios, Rom. 16:25; 2 Tim. 1:9; Tit. 1:2).
Jesus Said…
“My Kingdom is not of this world… My Kingdom is from another place.” Jn. 18:36. So, we ask, WHY do Christians love the world? I mean the things of it and in it? Since Jesus said this, who actually rules the world? John 14:30 tells WHO is the ruler. It doesn’t mention a name, but we all know WHO Jesus was referring to. Neither does Jesus mention a name in Jn. 12:31 in ref. to “the ruler of this world.” Again, Jesus uses the phrase “the ruler of this world” in Jn. 16:11. Matthew 6:9-13 Jesus was teaching His disciples how to pray. He tells them to pray for the Father’s Kingdom to come to earth, vs. 10, which meant that the present kingdom had a “ruler” other than Jesus, for in vs. 13 Jesus says, “deliver us (meaning His disciples) from the evil one.”
All the Kingdoms
Luke 4:5-7 tells us WHO this “ruler of the world” is: the DEVIL! Luke records, “The devil led Him (Christ) up to a high place & showed Him in an instant all the kingdoms of the WORLD.” Rev. 11:15 says, “The kingdom of the WORLD has become the kingdom of our Lord & of His Christ.”
So, in one sense, the Kingdom of God is yet future. Spiritually speaking, God’s Kingdom is in His people, in their hearts, which makes up the Body of Christ, those who are saved, filled with the Spirit & are walking according to His Will, not the will of the devil.
Jesus Prays
John 17:14-18 we find Jesus praying, mentioning the word “world” 18 times. In vs. 15 Jesus mentions “the evil one”. I think the Church does not take Jesus’ words seriously enough concerning “the ruler of the world”.
(Pt. 2)
So far, we’ve seen that Jesus spoke about the Kingdom of Heaven/God as opposed to the kingdom of Satan. Satan IS (present tense) the RULER (by God’s permission!) God’s Kingdom is in the hearts of His born-again, Spirit-filled believers. His earthly kingdom is yet to come – on/in earth. Rev. 22 speaks of the future Kingdom of God; Rev. 21 speaks of “a new heaven & a new earth, the New Jerusalem…descending out of heaven from God” (21:9). But, the earth’s ruler, the devil, will be “cast into the lake of fire,” 20:10. Until all this happens, Satan remains RULER.
Paul writes: “For He has rescued us from the one who RULES in the Kingdom of DARKNESS, & He has brought us into the Kingdom of His dear Son.” The Bible tells us plainly WHO rules the “WORLD” system: “… the whole WORLD is under the control of the evil one” – 1 Jn. 5:19; Jesus says in Mt. 12:24-28 that Satan has a kingdom. In 2 Cor. 4:4 Satan is identified as the “god of this WORLD” (or age).
The WAR Exists
The world’s people may scoff at the truth that there is a “devil” and that there is an ONGOING WAR between 2 kingdoms: Light vs. Darkness.
Who rules the world? The age old questions. Why is there evil/pain/injustice/sorrow/death in the world? Men & women of all ages have asked this. People get upset with my wife’s teaching/preachings, as well as mine, saying we dwell on the dark side too much. Well, it is because there is the dark side that rules the “world”. Are we to “zip the lip” because it makes men/women upset? Even Christians complain that we spend too much time on the negative; not enough on the positive. Well, informing the public of what is ruling over them, who is causing all the HELL ON EARTH, to avoid informing them would be like a doctor who tells his patient that they have a life threatening disease but refuses to offer them the medical cure.
World’s Governments
The LORD has ordained human government in order to deal with evil. Most governments of the World – secular – have moral/ethical codes of conduct/laws to deal with lawlessness, bring justice, and administer punishments. Daniel 4:17 states: “The Most High rules in the kingdom of men, (He) gives it to whomever He will, & sets over it the lowest of men.” In other words, God is in TOTAL CONTROL of ALL human events. He has given the human race a free will – some use it for good, some for evil. But God is still Supreme Ruler over all His Creation. Daniel 2:21 says that “God changes the times/seasons; He removes kings & raises up kings.” Dan. 4:25 says, “the Most High ruler in the kingdom of men & gives it to whomever He chooses.”
Proverbs 21:1 says, “The king’s heart is in the hand of the LORD…. He turns it wherever He wishes.” You, see, men think they are in control. Well, sorry about that, God rules over them!
Our Prayers
Even though Satan & his demons rule the (fallen) world, God’s sovereignty rules over them. Prayer can change evil & corrupt conditions. This is why prayer is needed. God can set evil men/women in positions of rulership – punishment or He can set good men/women in places of rulership for blessing. Zech. 11:16 is a good case-in-point (I have written many articles on this principle). (see Isa. 45:7 for example). Many times the LORD will let evil men/women do what is in their hearts. If He didn’t, then there would be no “free will choice”. Naturally God wants men/women to CHOOSE to rule using His principles/laws for blessings; but men/women CHOOSE the opposite, hence, a curse!
Likewise, “When the righteous rejoice, there is great glory; But when the wicked arise, men hide themselves” – Prov. 28:12. And in Prov. 29:2 we read: “When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice; but when a wicked man rules, the people groan.”
Prov. 29:27 says, “An injust man is an abomination to the righteous, & he who is upright in the way is an abomination to the wicked.” Don’t we see this in our nation? The Left calls Trump/MAGA an “A”; the Right calls the Left an “A”. Well, I’m not deceived in who is the real “A”.
‘Awla
The O.T. uses the Heb. word ‘avel or ‘awla meaning “unrighteousness & it refers to evil behavior. (see SIN/Iniquity); The N.T. uses the Gk. word hamartanō, meaning “missing the mark”. Paul writes about “the mystery of iniquity” (KJV) or “the secret power of lawlessness” (NIV). This “spirit” continues to operate in our world – enslaving, raping, killing (see 1 Jn. 3:4). So, where did this “evil”/ “lawlessness” come from. It was passed down to ALL descendants of Adam & Eve, hence, SIN entered the world (Rom. 5:12). I’ve read dozens of articles on HOW SIN entered the world. I believe the Bible’s account.
One thing we can be SURE OF: Evil is in the world! Sin enslaves peoples & nations! Death occurs! But, God so loved the WORLD that He gave us His Son, Jesus, to DESTROY Satan’s power over all who BELIEVE, REPENT. (see 1 Jn. 3:8 / Heb. 2:14, 15 et al.)
The Cross
Even though Christ Jesus DEFEATED Satan on the Cross, His VICTORY is not automatically passed down to all peoples. No! His eternal salvation awaits any & all who will confess/repent of their sins. John & Jesus preached “repentance” – Mt. 3:2 / Mt. 4:17. The N.T. authors did the same. So must we.
Danger Zone!
As already stated, Satan is the ruler of the fallen world. This was the exact reason why Jesus the Christ came to earth, “to DESTROY the devil’s work” – 1 Jn. 3:8, “by His DEATH He might DESTROY him who holds the power of DEATH – that is the devil,” Heb. 2:14, 15. But men/women must want to be FREED. So, when He died on the cross & rose from the dead (Resurrection) He recaptured the RULE over the social order. Jesus brought forth a New World Order whereby the repentant could escape the captivity of Satan & his rule.
The world is classified as a Danger Zone! Paul explains this transformation/translation in Eph. 2:1-9. He mentions the one who controlled/controls the course (Gk. aion, aeon) of this present world: “the prince of the power of the air (i.e., spirit world), the spirit who now works in the sons (i.e. world’s lost people) of disobedience,” vs. 2.
Even as born-again Christians, we are WARNED all through the N.T. to walk uprightly. But WHY are so many not walking the way – in the “way” – that the N.T. describes? The words DANGER ZONE tells us to beware. We should know that the source of “evil” lies within the hearts of men/women & that “evil” is personified by Satan & his hordes of evil spirits, aka, demons!
(Pt. 3)
Vines Expository Dictionary of the N.T., Thayer’s & Strong’s Lexicons & Dictionaries all define the word “world”.
Vine’s = (1) oikoumenē, the inhabited earth; (2) Aiōn, in age/period of time; (3) Kosmos, order or arrangement, the entire cosmos. It also carries the meaning of “the present condition of human affairs,” in alienation from & opposition to the Lord. I would define today’s world as “one HELL of a MESS! (3/30/26). America’s political, social, economic, religious order is OUT OF CONTROL. The political “left” is trying their best to destroy our Constitutional Republic, wanting a Marxist rule, even an Islamic rule, anything but a MAGA rule, a God rule. Talk about being BLIND, the democratic party is blinded (with some RINOS!). “The god of this WORLD has BLINDED the minds of those who do not believe” says 2 Cor. 4:4 (Phillip’s version). The “Left” et al. hates the Light; they rather live in darkness. But “the WHOLE WORLD,” as 1 Jn. 5:19 says, “is under the control of the evil one. Most people do not even consider this fact. Paul wrote, “… who gave Himself (Christ) for our sins, that He might deliver us (free us) from this present EVIL WORLD…” (read Jn. 1:5, 10, 11 = the world was made through Jesus; 1 Jn. 2:15, 16 = all that is in the world; Ja. 4:4 = if we are the world’s friend we are God’s enemy!; Other related texts = Acts 17:16-23; Mt. 5:14; Jn. 3:19-21; 8:12).
The Bible plainly teaches that Satan deceives the whole world (Rev. 12:9 (TBL). The Bible also plainly teaches that the Savior came to bring TRUTH to the world (Jn. 18:33).
Today’s liberal Church teaches a hodgepodge of beliefs – agreeing with the world on many issues. Just the other day someone accused us (esp. me) of being right wing MAGA, meaning we are against Militant Islam & the LGBTQ Movement. Well, before MAGA/Trump came to the forefront of America’s policies, We (Deborah & myself) were teaching against “Bloody Islam” (see our many articles on this) & against the abominations found in the LGBTQ camp. This was back in the early 1980s. We were teaching AGAINST the WORLD whose beliefs are contrary to Scripture. We showed the difference between the CULTure of the world & the CULTure of Christianity (see my articles on cult/culture).
Both Jesus & Paul point out these are two cultures: Biblical Christianity & Baal Paganism (see 1 Cor. 10:19-21). Ps. 106:34-38 speaks of Israel sacrificed their sons/daughters to demons/idols of Canaan. Ps. 96:5 says that all the gods of the nations are idols (diamonia) (read also Rev. 9:20; 2 Chron. 11:15; Deut. 32:16, 17; Lev. 17:7 et al.) Romans 1:19-25 speaks of idol worship. There are hundreds of texts on idols/idol worship – all forbidden by God. Yet if we point this out we are called HARSH, UNLOVING, JUDGMENTAL! I’ll say it one more time: today’s Church is a counterfeit churchified religion (with exceptions). But we have entered a new phase whereby the people of God want more than light shows, loud rock music, money lust, worldly living. There is a hunger in the land for militant/aggressive Christianity. People are sick of effeminate “men” & mannish “women” who call themselves ministers of God. Yes, ministers of god! Some things that go on in these “glorified whorehouses” (called “Church”) makes demons blush! All this idol worship typifies the essence of demon/human religion: man’s rebellious attempt to reach God… to play God… to be God!
(Pt. 4)
Since the FALL of Adam & Eve, there have been CULTural shapers of values, for evil or good. In our present generation in both Church and State (and the family unit) Wokeness / Political Correctness / Communism/Socialism are at work to undermine marriage/family. Anarchy basically RULES on the Left. Transgenderism is being pushed off as the “perfect”. Self-centered values (Satan’s) have taken the place of Christ-centerness. Obnoxious teachings & behavior emanate from the C/S/F – evil permeates, hence, it motivates their operation: DESTROY America!!! These Church retards & political Wokeites have zero respect for God or His Word.
Over the years we’ve seen evil systematically eradicate Godly influence in the Church & State. But things are now changing. People have become tired of romantic intoxication – GAYNESS – they are sick of loose living. They want austerity, godliness; they are sick of religious & political cons putting on vaudeville acts, spouting endless verbiage that say nothing. They are fed up with all this Woke/PC laissez-faire BS! They are tired of breathing poisonous miasmatic BS that makes one Sick-unto-death! Enough already. Let’s get back to sanity. Enough of these vile demimonde “ladies of the night” calling themselves “ministers of God”, “political prostitutes”. Enough of demoralizing what is good & holy. Time to GO TO WAR against the political/religious WHORE!
“Do What Thou Wilt”
As I write this article the prevailing mentality on the Left is “do what thou wilt” (a commie saying). we see more & more commie flags waving in America. Commies are sick people. Their Marxist – Leninist world view is skewed. Their views of life are distorted, perverted (see all my articles on Communism). Back in the day (in Sacramento, CA in the early 1980s) we went to colleges/Universities to proclaim the gospel. We were assaulted, materials destroyed etc. We knew that America’s traditional moral values were being changed, its culture-shaping institutions being attacked. So we attacked back! Our colleges/Universities have been infiltrated with M/L BS! I still contend with this murderous ideology. It was Aleister Crowley (a satanist) who coined the philosophy, “Do what thou wilt.” The whole phrase is “… shall be the whole of the law.” Demoralization has been and still is their weapon of choice. The media (with few exceptions) have the Commie mind-set; they in turn have become “shape-shifters”. I don’t need to convince you of this, you know it to be true. Biblical Christianity is being denied in our schools/univ. et al. True, there have been victories won over the years in favor of Christianity, but we’ve got to go above & beyond mere Christian slogans – we need a militant “Army of God” (not with weapons) that will challenge “rationalism”, “naturalism”, “humanism”. Our children & young people have become vulnerable & defenseless. We need to challenge secular humanism, political correctness, wokeness (all Marxism) (read Mt. 13:38; 1 Jn. 3:10, 12; Jn. 8:44) Time to “Get off your lazy behinds & get to the frontlines – there’s a WAR going on!!!”
In Profs. Ralph Martin & Peter David’s Dictionary of the Later N.T. & its Developments (1997), they write about 3 world concepts: 1) Spatial; 2) Temporal; 3) Anthropological. They cite Scripture as well as Apostolic Fathers (pp. 1222, 1223). 2 Peter describes the “world” as the place where antagonism toward God dwells, incurring “defilements” that need to be escaped (2 Pet. 2:20; see also Pol. Phil. 5:3; Ign. Rom. 3:3; 7:1).
These 2 professors also have a Dict. of Paul & His Letters (1993) in which they wrote about cosmology of the world – terminology, space, perspectives in Paul’s epistles, e.g., Romans; 1 Cor. 2 Cor.; Gal.; Eph.; Col.
Profs. W.C. Campbell – Jack & Gavin McGrath, along with Stephen Evans published the New Dict. of Christian Apologetics (2006) write about world-view – the history, strategic value, key themes, different Christian world-views, & the dangers of world-views. (pp. 758-762).
By now we kinda know what is meant by “world”. – there is our view, i.e., the Christian view from the Bible’s point, & the secular view of the world’s view. They write: “If we restrict ourselves to the traditions of historic Christian Orthodoxy (defined in terms of adherence to the ecumenical creeds of the early Church), it is possible to distinguish 4 such world-views, each defined by a different construal of the relation between the Church & the world, or Christ & CULTure, or (more fundamentally) to grace & nature. Three of these can be called dualistic, in that they conceive of ‘grace’ (a shorthand formulation for everything involved in the redemption in Christ of the Kingdom of God) as either opposing or supplementing or flanking ‘nature’ (a shorthand formulation for everything involved in God’s good but fallen creation).” Do we understand what they are saying? They continue: “In varying degrees, these Christian world-views allow for a dichotomy of separation between a sacred & a secular realm of life. The fourth, in the tradition of Ireneus, Augustine & Calvin, construes grace as restoring nature, of entering into it like a medicine in order to recover its original health. This more integral view thus resists any suggestion that ‘sacred’ & ‘secular’ can be correlated with distinct realms of human life.”
Matter of Ideals?
This is what the world says of Christianity. “That is your opinion” they say. Biblical Christianity is not a matter of (personal) ideals. BC is a relationship not a mere religion – a radical, aggressive discipleship embodied in “Action to Revolution”, the overthrowing of the secular view-points of life. The Kingdom of God is a CULTure! Yes, the world “cult” comes from the word “culture”. We can rightly call it a New World Order (under our Savior) as opposed to the Old World Order (under Satan). True Biblical Christianity is rooted in Christ Jesus; Humanism is rooted in the fall of man, secular, worldly. Our relationship is relative to the centrality of the person of Jesus Christ the Lord.
The world-view aspect of Christianity does not define essence, but focuses on one of its features – a feature which can be crucially important for certain purposes, not least apologetic purposes.
(Pt. 5)
Paul writes: “Where is the wise? Where is the scribe? Where is the disputer (debater) of this age? Has not God made foolish the wisdom of this WORLD? For since, in the wisdom of God, the WORLD through wisdom did not know God, it pleased God through the foolishness of the message preached to save those who believe.” – 1 Cor. 1:20, 21
Paul’s question appeals to what God has done in Christ. Paul uses τοῦ κόσμου, Greek (vs. 21). This is a clear indication that the two terms αiων (“age”) & κόσμος (“world”) has come to merge in his own thinking. Both have become eschatological terms, conditioned by God’s ultimate event in Christ Jesus, His cross & His resurrection. Both the κόσμος, “the world order” that has been under the domination of Satan, & the (now) present age have been judged by the Judge – God-in-Christ & are thus in the process of passing away. Paul says, “… the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing (those of the “world”). You see, the world’s wisdom belongs to the sphere of human self-sufficiency. This is why we need the Bible’s wisdom, the Spirit’s wisdom.
1 Cor. 1:18-21 – was Paul inviting the various “wise ones” of the WORLD to step forward & take cognizance of what God had done in the cross? If this is what he meant, then he begins a debate with his hypothetical disputants. To better understand all this one needs to know about the city of Corinth & its people. As a Greek city-state it flourished both before & after the golden years of Athens (5th c. B.C.) One can do their own research. We do know Cornith was a wealthy city, which in turn turned the people to be fiercely independent. Vice & virtue flourished side-by-side. Old Corinth had gained a reputation for sexual vice. Historians point out that Aristophanes (450-385 B.C.) coined the verb korinthiuzō, i.e., “to act like a Corinthian”, i.e., “to commit fornication”. The apostle Paul lays out a nasty vice list in 1 Cor. 6:9-11, in which he says “… the unrighteous will not inherit the Kingdom of God.” He proceeds to write: “Do not be deceived. Neither FORNICATORS, IDOLATERS, ADULTERERS, HOMOSEXUALS, SODOMITES…” – 1 Cor. 6:9. Just the other day I was said to be “homophobic”! No! I was quoting from the Bible.
Paul, after he cites certain sins/crimes, he wrote, “And such were (Past Tense) some of you. But you were (PT) washed (by the blood of Jesus), you were (PT) sanctified (set apart from the WORLD!), you were (PT) justified in the name of the Lord Jesus & by the Spirit of our God,” vs. 11. In that one paragraph (vs. 11) we find the word “were” 4 times, meaning those sinful Corinthians had been saved & set apart from the WORLD. It goes without saying, God does not want His people to continue on in their vices, esp. sex-sins. Yet we now have LGBTQ plus churches all over the land. SHAMEFUL!
World – Kosmos
The kosmos (“world”) is now personified & represents the whole human order of things in its FALLENNESS.
“It is God’s intent to SAVE all those who BELIEVE”. Paul writes, “… but to those who are called, both Jews & Greeks, Christ the power of God & the wisdom of God,” 1 Cor. 1:24. In vss. 27, 28 we find the word “world”. Paul contrasts the “wise” with the “foolish”. What did he mean, “God has chosen the foolish things of the world to put to shame the wise, & God has chosen the weak things of the world to put to shame the things which are mighty” (vs. 27)?
God chose not the (worldly) “wise”, but the “foolish things” of the world. Vss. 27, 28 the “foolish, weak, & lowly” are, as Prof. G.D. Fee states, are neuter plural, while the first contrasting noun, ‘the wise’, is masculine & the others are neuter. He says that this presents an unusual sentence in the Gk. language, but it is understandable nonetheless. When all is said, God not only chose “foolish” people, but in all His ways He has chosen what the WORLD deems as foolish (including the Cross). What God did in the cross & in calling the “lowly” Corinthians not only exhibits His own character, the He is gracious, but also illustrates that He is not beholden to the WORLD. God chose Israel to be His own possession. Ps. 135:6 says, “whatever the LORD pleases He does…” If we’re to put this the other way around, the “wise” are God’s people; the “foolish” are the world’s people.
Some Bible scholars believe in God selects/elects certain people for either Heaven or Hell. I have a hard time believing that point of view. Since God has bestowed upon the whole human race the will to “choose”, i.e., “freedom of choice”, it is man, not God, who chooses his/her afterlife.
(Pt. 6)
We’ve been looking at 1 Cor. 1:18-21: “For after that in the wisdom of God the world by wisdom knew not God, it pleased God by the foolishness of preaching to save them that believe,” vs. 21. According to some scholars, “in the wisdom of God” is equivalent to “providentially”: the LORD arranged that man’s wisdom should fail in attaining knowledge of Him. On the other hand, the wisdom of God is the imminent beauty & order of creation to which the apostle refers in Rom. 1:19-20. What I have found in all my years of study/research is that there are great disputes among scholars over certain texts. One does not need to be “wise” (in ref. to knowing God), but “believing”. Mere human philosophy will not give man/woman eternal life – only repentance & walking upright TILL THE END!
Jews/ Greeks
The Gospel of Jesus Christ was a stumbling block to the Jews; it was foolishness to the Greeks. (1 Cor. 1:23). Both Jews and Greeks were highly “religious”, but LOST! It was the Jews that had their Messiah put on the cross, not the Greeks or Romans (although the Romans did the deed).
To both Jew/Greek the cross was aesthetically offensive.
The World’s System
Even as called, born-again, Spirit filled believers, we still live under the World’s Beast System. “CULTural shapers”, i.e., those who elect/direct both good & evil values, are all about us. Some are evil, some are ignorant of God’s purpose & plan for man. We can rightly say, “The WORLD is the Battlefield of life.” Both the saved & non-saved must fight for survival.
The entire, social, economic, & political order is at WAR with Biblical Christianity. Some try to co-exist with it; others are hostile to it. But the world (whose King/Ruler is Satan) is at all times competing with Christ for the possession of men’s/women’s mind’s, hearts, bodies. Some “Christians” mock the concept of “spirit warfare”. We know, and the Bible PLAINLY states, that DEMONIC POWER is the deceptive force behind false gods & religions. Satan & his demons are constantly ACTIVE, an “Army of DESTRUCTION” that never sleeps (as do too many “Christians”). The WORLD is basically a land of “Walking Dead” (Eph. 2:1-2 says, “And you He made ALIVE, who were DEAD in trespasses & sins, in which you once walked according to the course of this WORLD, according to the prince of the power of the air (spirit world), the spirit who now works in the sons of disobedience.” Walking Dead! Dead in spirit yet alive in body.
Love not…
Yep! This is what the Bible says: “Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world…” – 1 Jn. 2:15
Loving & lusting for the things of this world diverts our love away from the Lord who saved us. One author wrote that the “world’s system” is outwardly CULTured, elegant, religious, & scientific, BUT within it is seething with political/commercial rivalries & ambitions. It is driven by demonically-inspired cravings/lusts for power & control. The world, in general, has a disdain for Christianity (see Jn. 15:17-25 et al.).
Possessed?
We hear a lot about demon possession but little if nothing about God possession. Don’t we want to be WHOLLY & TOTALLY possessed by God? Too many have Him in their mouths but not allowing Him to be in one’s heart, i.e., be controlled.
The War!
The “love of the world” vs. the “love of God”. These two forces are here to stay. We’re always going to have this inner warfare, for the natural man & the spiritual man will contend for control/possession.
Confrontational Christianity
Like I’ve said, there is a new generation arising today that will CONFRONT these evils in the land. They will face & stand against the enemy BOLDlY, DEFIANTLY. There is a doc that just was posted on YouTube called “Inside the Aggressive Christianity Cult (AI). Let me quote one sentence of this (untrue) hit piece: “Though it’s no longer used (our “compound”) as a base for the cult, its presence still looms large in the community. DEFIANT pretty much defines ALL of us that belong to “The Cult of the Living God”. We are not stopped! Nor Sir! We advance! We contend against the devil, his demons, the “Beast” system called “World”.
