Gen Jim – POW 86322 – 11/19/19
When one stops and thinks about what it means to be born again (John 3:3,5), there is a lot we can be thankful for. Sadly, today too many only seek fire insurance and not Jesus. They see Jesus as the world sees Santa Claus – the gift-giver: make a wish and ZAP!! Your gift in under the tree.
I Am Led:
I am led by the Holy spirit: “For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, there are sons of God” (Romans 8:14), (read v.15-16).
Before I pass on to another “I am,” let me state that the Holy Spirit or Ghost is NOT a “thing,” but a divine person. [I will do a Bible study on Him next. I have a 50 page magazine in print on the HS already.] I want to prove that He has qualities that a “thing” does not have. When my wife, Deborah, and I received salvation we also received the baptism of the Holy Ghost with speaking in tongues – we still have this wonderful gift nearly 50 years later.
Let me put forth these Scriptures about Jesus (the God-man) who also was baptized in the HG: Luke 4:14: “Jesus returned to Galilee in the power of the Spirit…” Jesus said in v.18,19 that “The Spirit of the Lord is on me, because He has anointed Me to preach the gospel to the poor; He has sent Me to heal the broken hearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives and recovery of sight to the blind, to set at liberty those who are oppressed; to proclaim the acceptable year of the LORD.” Acts 10:38 says “… how God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the HS and power, and how He went around doing good and healing all who were under the power of the devil, because God was with Him.” Matthew 4:1 tells us that “Jesus was led up by the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted by the devil.” (See Mark 1:12). We know from Matthew 3:11 that John the Baptist said that Jesus, (who was to be filled with the HG (or HS) would “baptize you (us) with the Holy Spirit and fire.” More on all this in my next study.
I Am Kept:
Psalm 91:11, 12 says, “For He shall give His angels charge over you (us), to keep you (us) in all your (our) ways. In their land they shall bear you up…” We’ve seen this numerous times in our Christian journey.
I am not conformed to this evil world:
“And do not be conformed to this world, BUT be transformed by the renewing of your mind…” (Romans 12:2);
I am taking evil thoughts captive as well as pulling down strongholds:
“For the weapons of our WARFARE are not carnal (i.e. physical) but might in God for pulling down strongholds, casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ” (2 Corinthians 10:4,5);
I am (trying the best I can) to overcome the world:
“For whatever is born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has overcome the world – our faith” (1 John 5:4);
I am getting my needs met:
“And my God shall supply all your (our) need according to His riches in glory by Jesus Christ” (Philemon 4:19);
I am casting my cares upon Jesus:
“Casting all your (our) care upon Him, for He cares for you (us)” (Philemon 5:7);
I am not moved by what I see:
“We are hard-pressed on every side, yet not crushed; we are perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but not forsaken; struck down, but not destroyed” (2 Corinthians 4:8,9).
These assaults take on new meaning here in “Razor-Wire Estates,” aka prision.
But… I am strong in the Lord:
“… be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might” (Ephesians 6:10);
I am walking by faith:
“For we walk by faith, not by sight” (2 Corinthians 5:7);
I am doing all things thru Him:
“I can do all things (He asks) thru Christ who strenghtens me (us)” (Philemon 4:13);
I am an over-comer:
“And they overcame him (accusers)by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, and they did not love their lives to the death” (Revelations 12:11);
I am blessed coming and going:
“Blessed shall you be when you come in, and blessed shall you be when you go out” (Deuteronomy 28:6);
I am above not below:
“And the Lord will make you the head and not the tail; you shall be above only, and not be beneath, IF you (we) heed the commandments of the LORD…” Dt. 28:13
I am blessed with all spiritual blessings:
“Blessed by the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ” (Ephesians 1:3);
I am healed by Jesus’ stripes:
“Who Himself bore our sins in His own body… that we, having died to sins, might live for righteousness – by whose stripes you (we) were healed” (1 Peter 2:24); [see Isaiah 53:5].
I am a conqueror:
“Yet in all these things we are MORE than conquerors thru Him who loves us” (Romans 8:37).
What “things” was Paul taking about? Well, start with chpt.1 and read all the way to chpt. 8, v.37. Make a list for yourself;
I am following the Good Shepherd:
“And when he brings out his own sheep, he goes before them; and the sheep follow him, for they know his voice” (John 10:4);
I am allowing the Word to dwell in me:
“Let the Word of Christ dwell in you (us) richly in all wisdom…” (Colossians 3:16).
Not only this but –
I am letting peace rule me:
“And let the peace of God rule your (our) hearts…” (v.15);
FIN
Pages more could be cited here. But this will suffice for now. These great texts are sufficient for the one word who love the Lord. The Word says NOTHING can SEPARATE us from His love – but if we allow our love to grow cold and desert our post-of-duty, division follows; we die spiritually.
So, let us STAND FAST in the liberty in Christ. No one or no thing can make us fall unless we want to fall. No weapon formed against us shall prosper. Man’s legal systems have tried to separate us from each other and from Christ Himself. Hold on!!!
